Hoover Orlando Canaval Erazo
Assistant professor in the Gynecology-Obstetrics and Family
Medicine department at the Universidad del Valle. Physician specializing in
Gynecology and Obstetrics from the Universidad del Valle and a specialist in
Health Services Administration from the Universidad de Antioquia.
He worked as a specialist physician at the Hospital
Universitario del Valle “Evaristo García,” also holding positions in the
Management of the UES of Gynecology, Medical Direction, and as the director of
the Teaching-Attending Office.
His professional journey includes several published articles
in books and medical journals, and author of the book ‘Pharmacology of Iron.’
Prof. Canaval has been recognized for their leadership in various scientific
societies, where he has held senior management positions, including Fecopen,
Sovogin, and Asomenopausia. Currently, Prof. Carnaval is the first vice president
of the Latin American Federation of Climacteric and Menopause Societies
(FLASCYM). He is also a regular academic speaker at national and international
medical congresses focusing on gynecology and obstetrics, where share his expertise
and insights.
He coordinates the undergraduate Medicine students in the
Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Universidad del Valle.
