This book brings collectively a series of research articles written by teachers and students who participate in the research workshops of the Department of Humanities of the Catholic University of Colombia. The thematic focus of the work is a reflection on the person, intimacy, and society. Specifically, the texts study the family as a sphere of intimacy inspired by the transcendental anthropology of Leonardo Polo. They focus their attention on the problem of reducing the person to a producer and analyze intimacy as an opening to the spiritual, the path to recovering a life of solidarity and fraternity; they describe the role of intimacy as a promoter of significant events in the historical development of the West, based on the thought of Augustine of Hippo; they analyze the theme of intimacy in the magisterium of Paul VI; they deal with the concept of family intimacy as a place where one receives formation in human and religious values; and they present the relationship that exists between intimacy and displacement. With this work, we hope to contribute to a humanistic reflection on the topic of intimacy and to stimulate new patterns of research that will allow us to better understand the difficult world in which we live.
