Carlos Humberto Cascante Segura
Full Professor at the School of International Relations at the Universidad Nacional, as well as at the School of Political Science and the Master’s Program in Diplomacy at the Universidad de Costa Rica. He holds a PhD in History from the Universidad de Costa Rica, a bachelor’s degree in Law, and a master’s degree in Diplomacy. He previously served as Director of the School of International Relations at the Universidad Nacional and as Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Diplomacy at the Universidad de Costa Rica.
He is the author of several articles on Costa Rica’s foreign policy and the history of its foreign relations; among his most recent publications are Clientelismo, partidos políticos y servicio exterior en Costa Rica (1940-1990) and La política exterior de Costa Rica (1850-2010). He also edited the works Trump y Centroamérica: entre continuidades, incertidumbres y miedos. 2017-2019 and Las relaciones internacionales de Costa Rica: un vistazo desde el bicentenario. He is co-author of the book Las relaciones de Costa Rica con el Medio Oriente y el Norte de África: pasado y presente de una relación que se transforma.
